Organised by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, with the theme "Mapping the Future: Geospatial Solutions for Maritime and Port Resilience", the inaugural International Maritime Geospatial Forum (IMGF) aims to highlight the critical role of digital geospatial innovation in addressing the intertwined challenges of maritime and port resilience. The IMGF will connect industry leaders, policymakers, experts, and other key stakeholders to explore collaboration opportunities in maritime geospatial solutions and to address a range of use cases supporting the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of maritime and port operations:
- Disaster Preparedness: How can geospatial data and modelling enhance preparedness and adaptive capacity for ports and coastal infrastructure facing extreme weather events?
- Preparing for Sea Level Rise: How can new methods in data collection and geospatial reference systems improve the monitoring of sea level rise and its impacts on infrastructure resilience?
- Alternative Marine Fuels: How can geospatial data and modelling solutions support the safety and efficiency of alternative fuel bunkering operations in port waters?
- Operations Optimisation: How can access to real-time geospatial data and spatial planning tools help improve the safety and efficiency of port operations and vessel navigation, and facilitate information flow in support of use cases such as the reduction of maritime emissions?
- Sea-based Renewal Energy Production: How can wind, current, tidal data be leveraged with geospatial data to develop sea-based renewal energy solutions? By leveraging collective strengths and developing innovative solutions, geospatial technologies can offer opportunities to transform maritime operations and secure the future of global seaborne trade.
